2026 marks 10 years of London-based club night Deptford Northern Soul Club (DNSC). Childhood friends Will Foot and Lewis Henderson founded the night at Deptford’s Bunker Club in 2016, inspired by Lewis’ dad’s record collection. Since then, they’ve taken their hugely popular party across the UK, playing festivals including Glastonbury, Green Man and End of the Road, and venues such as Tate Modern and Southbank Centre.
This Halloween, they unleash Northern Ghoul: a spooky twist on their infectious celebration of Northern Soul. Expect hauntingly good tunes, eerie grooves and a ghoulish talcum-powdered dance floor, all soundtracked by the pair’s unrivalled passion for soul.
With residencies at London’s Moth Club and Manchester’s YES, and a nationwide following, DNSC have brought Northern Soul to a new generation. Their label, DNSC Records, launched in 2019 in association with PIAS, has since reissued more than 60 elusive tracks on 7-inch vinyl.
Blending the spirit of Northern Soul with modern sound systems, Northern Ghoul brings the music into the 21st century. So dust off your dancing shoes, summon your inner ghoul and prepare for a Halloween night of spine-tingling soul.
